Robert Remington - President
Robert was elected to the Board in 1979 and has been President since 1995. As a lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Remington has owned and operated the family farm for over 28 years raising hogs, cattle and grain. Currently his son Tim and him own and operate Remington Excavating. Robert and his wife Marilyn, have been married since 1961 and have three grown children.
Richard Godfrey - Vice President
Richard (Dick) was appointed to the Board in 2006 to fill the position held by his father Bill Godfrey who resigned after serving 44 years on the Bloomingdale Communications Board of Directors. Dick grew up in Cheshire Center. He and his wife, Leora, have been long time residents of Eagle Lake in Bloomingdale Township. Dick has taught business and statistics classes at Grand Rapids Junior Community College for 41 years. He also has been in charge of contract negotiation and administration at the College. Dick and Leora were married in 1966 and have 3 grown children. Both of the Godfrey's have been very active in their communities, serving on Boards and volunteering their services to many different groups. One of their recent projects was the production and donation of calendars to benefit the arch restoration in Haven Park and the Depot Museum.
Donald Dickerson - Secretary
Donald was elected to the board in 2007. He has been a resident of Bloomingdale Township nearly all his life. He and his wife Angela were married in 2002 and both live and work in the Bloomingdale community with their son, Brayton. Donald is a graduate of Bloomingdale High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University. He is certified as an Engineer in Training (EIT), and also holds a license with the State of Michigan as a Residential Builder. He currently works for Dickerson's Greenhouse as Network Administrator and IT Manager. Past experience has included the overseeing of construction projects as well as extensive work with potted plant cost analysis. Most recently, his responsibilities have included: maintaining customer compliance requirements, setting up and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange systems and managing the integration of new technology into the company.
George B. Fritz - Treasurer
George was first elected to the Board in 1972 and served until 1993 and then was re-elected in 1999. He is a lifelong resident of the area who currently owns and operates the family farm with his wife Barbara, whom he married in 1955. They have 3 grown sons who are all married and still reside in the area. George is active in the Fritz-Krueger Insurance agency, which he formed several years ago as well as his continued activity in the family Blueberry business and his personal involvement in the development of Brookside Estates, an exclusive home site development project on Mill Lake.
Virginia Burleson - Assistant Treasurer
Virginia was elected to our Board of Directors in 2000. Virginia is a life long resident of the area and is a retiree of the Bloomingdale School District. Being active with many of the local activates of the community she never fails to have a smile and words of encouragement to everyone she meets. She is the mother of 4 grown sons and several grand children, which she has referred to as her "greatest accomplishments".
Rudy Sauer - Director
Rudy was elected to the Board in 1993 and is currently its Secretary. He is a lifelong resident who currently owns and operates the family farm with his wife Sharon, whom he married in 1957. For over 30 years Sauer Orchards has produced apples, cherries, peaches, plums, squash and pumpkins. Rudy and his wife have four grown children.
Tim Remington - Director
Tim was elected to our Board in 2007. He, his wife Chantelle and their three children reside in Bloomingdale. Tim grew up in Bloomingdale and received his diploma from Bloomingdale High School. In 1992, Tim earned a degree in Accounting from Michigan State University, and moved back to Bloomingdale to form Remington Excavating with his father, Robert Remington.
